Incredible Edibles Garden Challenge
Senior infants and fifth class took part in the Incredible Edibles Garden Challenge. Carrots, strawberry plants, lettuce, turnips and potatoes were planted. Both classes explored the topic of food, with senior infants making butter and fifth class making bread. A healthy eating action was undertaken with a fruit and vegetable party. The children brought in and tasted a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. Activities also took place at home with children going shopping for food and cooking simple dishes with their parents. A gold award was achieved for completing the five tasks set out in the challenge.
