Barefield National School has a distinguished history in the field of education for more than one hundred years.

Mr Frank Burns, Principal of Barefield National School from 1955 to 1984 was held in the highest esteem in the parish of Barefield. His positive contributions not only to the educational life, but also to the social, religious and cultural life of the parish have assured him of a treasured place in the annals of the parish of Barefield.

The Board of Management structure of Barefield N. S. enables parents, teachers and Patron’s representatives to join together as partners in promoting the success of the school in all its work and in its links with the wider local community.
