Sport
Barefield School participates in a wide range of games including Gaelic football, hurling, basketball, soccer, tag-rugby, swimming, athletics and many more. Each child is encouraged to participate and enjoy a healthy and active time during their primary years.
The school has been successful in many competitions over the years winning County titles in football, hurling and basketball in recent years. We also succeeded in gaining the “Active School Award” for County Clare in 2008.
We have a fantastic staff who are committed to coaching our young girls and boys after school. We have close links with our local club St. Joseph’s Doora-Barefield and many of our past pupils have gone on to represent the “Parish” with great distinction.
Our school year ends with our Annual Sports Day which is enjoyed by pupils and parents alike. Again enjoyment is our number one objective.
