Spring Concert 2010 in An Glor a Huge Success
16 Feb 2010 - John Burns
Music, song, drama and smiling faces were everywhere in Barefield school during the last few weeks as everyone put the finishing touches to rehearsals for the Annual Spring Concert which tool place in An Glór on Thursday night, Feb 11th. The event was a total sell out as the staff and pupils welcomed parents, grandparents, family and friends to a diverse feast of entertainment with most sketches being original pieces penned by class teachers. The children had fine tuned their performances at a full dress rehearsal throughout the day of the concert and the children drew loud applause, gales of laughter and even a standing ovation by the time the curtain fell following 3.5 hours of a quality production.
School Principal Mr. John Burns, Board Chairman Ronan Connolly and Fr. Gerry Carey, Parish Priest were eloquent in their praise of school staff, pupils and parents and reminded the audience that a fantastic school extension, new general purpose room basketball court and all the attendant facilities should be in place in the new school year. Mr Burns expressed appreciation to everyone for their efforts in this regard.
