Since October 2019 the pupils in fourth class have been set STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) challenges ranging from crossing an imaginary river with paper boats, to building the highest book tower to support a weight, investigating sound, building their own tin phones and becoming shoe makers for a few days to list [...]
Just a few photographs to show the children busy with their spider webs in Visual Art before the Halloween. The children were set the task of ensuring no two web windows could be the same colour i.e. none of the 'web boxes' could match in colour to the one next to it.
In autumn the children enjoyed engaging in Visual Arts. Drawing trees, using the colours of brown, orange, yellow and green the children had to paint an autumn themed drawing. Another challenging art lesson was the use of the interactive white board to display an animal or animals associated with autumn i.e. hedgehog & red squirrel. [...]
During the months of September and October fourth class benefited greatly from yoga sessions with Eimear McCarthy. The classes were very relaxing and all the pupils enjoyed participating.
