Barefield National School has a distinguished history in the field of Education. Since 1895, it has been a progressive centre of innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.
Our children have access to fantastic facilities. We have sixteen mainstream classrooms, a special class and multi-sensory room for children with autism, six support teaching rooms, a large school hall, library, astro-turf pitch, basketball yard, two playing pitches and spacious yards. All classrooms have the latest flat-panel interactive boards.

Road to the Munster Final! 🖤❤️
As we build up to the Munster Junior Camogie Final, we’re delighted to continue introducing the players who will take to the field next Saturday.
Next up is our Doora Barefield contingent.
We are incredibly proud of every member of this panel, who have shown huge commitment, skill and pride in wearing the school colours throughout the campaign. These players have been outstanding and will be ready for the challenge as we face Sacred Heart Clonakilty in what promises to be a fantastic final.
