Welcome to Barefield NS
Barefield National School has a distinguished history in the field of Education. Since 1895, it has been a progressive centre of innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.
Our children have access to fantastic facilities. We have sixteen mainstream classrooms, a special class and multi-sensory room for children with autism, six support teaching rooms, a large school hall, library, astro-turf pitch, basketball yard, two playing pitches and spacious yards. All classrooms have the latest flat-panel interactive boards.

SCHOOLS’ TRADITIONAL MUSIC GROUPS 🎻🎶
Traditional music groups from schools across Clare will gather at Temple Gate Plaza throughout the week to share lively performances as part of Fleadh Nua 2026. Each day will feature young musicians bringing the energy, talent and spirit of their local communities to the heart of Ennis, creating a vibrant lunchtime celebration of Clare’s musical tradition.

St.J.D.B. GOLF CLASSIC / SOCIAL: Prize-giving for our Club Golf Classic takes place at 7pm on Saturday May 2nd at Hassett’s Bar in Barefield. This should be a good chance to get together with club people, whether you are playing in the Classic or not, feel free to come along.
