Welcome to Barefield NS
Barefield National School has a distinguished history in the field of Education. Since 1895, it has been a progressive centre of innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.
Our children have access to fantastic facilities. We have fifteen mainstream classrooms, a special class and multi-sensory room for children with autism, facilities for pupils with medical disabilities, six support teaching rooms, a large school hall, library, astro-turf pitch, basketball yard, two playing pitches and spacious yards. All classrooms have the latest flat-panel interactive boards.

1st class thoroughly enjoyed forest school over the last 6 weeks. They learned loads about animals, created many wonderful crafts and found a new respect for the forest and its inhabitants. 6th Class enjoyed a trip to Fanore beach today and had a guided tour of the strand by Carmel Madigan. After some sand art and a beach clean up we headed for a delicious meal in Monks restaurant Ballyvaughan. 🏖️All costs (bus, food, Carmel’s fee) are being paid for by Marion Wurth of the ‘Wurth’ Group.
